Building 29
Built: 1967
Closed: 1990's
Status: Abandoned
This power plant replaced the old one, that is is long gone. It was originally built to burn coal, but then later they converted it to burn gas. It provided electricity to all the buildings, plus steam, which were both delivered to the buildings via the steam tunnels. For awhile after the hospital closed, the power plant still received power to keep the lights around the property lit, and supplied power to building 1 (which still held patients up until 2012) and building 7 (for the police equipment on the roof). Pretty soon, scrappers and vandals and destructive people gained access into the building and the equipment still running would get tampered with, so they decided to shut off the power and switch all the power to the main electrical grid.
Today, the power plant still stands, but the smokestack was recently imploded on March 27th, 2013.
